Pretty Women Stop Asking Silly Questions

OK Pretty ladies kill me. Yep, they crack me the hell up. They're a comedy act and don't even know it. Maybe...

...They are teaching people to ask these dating questions but a favorite one that seems to be going around these days is: "why are you single?" WTH? LOL!

I feel like letting the Spanky in me come out and say "Hey Ms. Beautiful why da Hell are you single?" This cracks me the Hell up?

These pretty women have curves galore going pow tadow in every single angle and direction! Their hair and makeup is customized to perfection. Freakin negroes damn near fainting when seeing them sashay down the street.

The Bruthas in your face 24/7 spitting game and you're single. And you asking me why I'm single?

Why da hell you can't get a man Ms. Man Magnet. Come on get a grip ladies. Geez Lawd gimme Strength. SMH

Accept this lady below I'd answer all of her questions and zip my sarcastic mouth. Yep I'd be a open book if I ever met her.

I'd be like - Yes, Ms. Fineness I'm single because I've been waiting ALL my life for you! Ha, Ha, Ha!

On Taking Control

Nothing like becoming authority yourself when you feel present authority isn't serving your interests.
Protect Yourself
Learn to be your your own 1st line of defense. If I had to wait for police in some situations I'd be dead already.

Present Responsibilities

Sometimes we have to face today's challenges with urgency because future generations will depend on it.

Postive Labeling and Surnames in the Black Community

Should black people refer to each other as kings or queens?  Should we use positive descriptions of each other especially when some people just act nasty or unruly.

Well we're speaking metaphorically and of course it's wishful thinking. I'd much rather try something positive than calling each other N'words and B'words 24/7.

I usually go with bro and sista although we aren't blood relatives. I think it is good Karma to use positive terminology and vibes when referring to people. I hope with the positive labeling to make a person feel just a little better about themselves and help make the atmosphere in the world a little less hostile one person at a time.

 Eating Healthy & Saving Money

I'm ironically saving a hell of a lot of money buying healthy foods.  Most people complain that healthier foods are pricier.

However, I find when I buy good foods and cook from scratch it saves me a lot of money over processed or frozen foods.  If you buy generic brand names in Whole Foods and Trader Joe the prices are cheaper than neighborhood bodegas or grocery stores. Then of course there are the invaluable health benefits to consider as well.

Women and Misogyny in Religion
I think part of the problem is with patriarchy and misogyny in popular culture is women internalize belittling thoughts about themselves from uncritical obedience to patriarchal religions. They past down these morays to young boys and girls.

Men certainly pass them down and reinforce them. More women need a theology degree and to rise to affluence in our major religions and rewrite the script.

We do also have a gangsta street culture in the hood that elevates bullying weaker people without access to guns, women, and the elderly increasingly growing. They are perpetuating this attitude via music and pop culture. Women aren't respected at all and many boys are getting their skewed outlook on women from that perspective.

On Activist Ancestors like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr.

They walked a sacrificial path which paved the way for the millionaires and political leaders of today.

The Christian Imperative for Social Justice

Law and Order without Justice is unrighteous. "But let justice roll down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream." Kamau's Qu!ps reflection on Amos 5:24.

Poor People Out Finance the Status Quo

Since primarily women, young people, Latinos, and Blacks supported Obama I wonder how much money did Black people give? Because Obama raised more money in his Presidential campaign than any Presidential candidate in history.

A lot had to come from Black people. He raised a whopping 750 million dollars and that wasn't from large 3rd parties. He raised only 50 million from them: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=6397572

Beyond Good Cop Bad Cop - Institutionalized Police Brutality

Many people say don't lump all cops together most police are good cops. It isn't a matter of lumping all police together. That's not the issue at all.

The issue is if 95% of police are good professionals (which it may be) but they stand by the 5% who are brutal (or even 1% who are brutal) with their union, then police brutality becomes institutionalized because the police union, Commissioner, DAs and justice system protects them by any means possible.

This has nothing to do with individual police officers. This has to do with the police department as an institution supporting police brutality and misconduct.

Look at the total disrespect the police are giving the mayor now who is supposed to be their boss as an elected official. Their union leader is attacking the mayor and even the President.

The Police union is totally out of control and is going to start a real debacle with community relations.  The Mayor's comments and President Obama's have been moderate. But they are being blamed for murder and demagoguery?

It's really scary that the police union is using this tragedy to mount an irresponsible attack on the Mayor and President even. If they have that type of contempt for the Mayor and President what kind of respect do you think they have for you or me? Marinade on that a while.

Response to Police Union Head Pat Lynch on War Against Protestors
I'd suggest Pat Lynch tone his rhetoric back. There are 50,000 police officers and 8,500,000 New Yorkers, with over 2 million African Americans. You do the math.

How does this demagogue get to run a police union? SMH, is he a reflection of the rank and file?

There needs to be some positive attempt to enhance police and community relations. Unfortunately I don't think we have the leadership or empathy to make it happen. There's a debacle of epic proportions going on in the US between authority and forces of change.

Post Racial America

Post Racial America may crystallize but it will be forged in a Battle of epic proportions. Ultimately, will heat overcome light? To be enraged or enlightened - that is the question.
.

Distortions in Racial Profiling

Police and law and order types justify aggressive policing like "Stop and Frisk" with the mantra that Blacks commit a lot of crimes so they are criminally profiled.

This excuse for profiling is disingenuous.  It kills me with the whole profiling thing. Blacks get profiled for only 3% of our population. There are 905,000 Blacks incarcerated mostly for nonviolent crimes out or 44 million Blacks.

Actually more Blacks have Master degrees than we are in prison 1.3 million to 905,000.  But there are 1.1 million Black families with a net worth of over 1 million dollars. There are 4.5 million Blacks with college degrees.

There are 1.3 million Black men with college degrees, there are 10 million Black home owners, There are 1.9 million Black business owners, there are 18 million blacks working out of and adult population of 21 million. 82.5% of Blacks have a high school diploma.

So the proper profiling of a Black person is to realize that you are:

~ 4 1/2 times more likely to meet a black with a college degree than a criminal.

~ 18 times more likely to meet a Black person who is a working person,

~ Twice as likely to meet a black person who is an entrepreneur than a felon.

~ A cop is 10 times more prone to meet a Black homeowner than someone in prison/jail or a criminal.

Hell a cop is more likely to run into a Black millionaire than a criminal. If you're going to profile Blacks get a truer picture of the demographics before sprouting the Fox News talking points.

The Future of Black Magazines and Film

Linda Johnson-Rice of iconic Ebony Magazine is putting
Up the Historic Photo Archive for sale for $40 Million

Recently it was reported in the Chicago Tribune that Ebony Magazine, the iconic trailblazing black publication is looking to sell it's historic photo archive for 40 million dollars. Reportedly, there are 5 million pictures in it which to me cheapens the collection.  With that they are only getting roughly $8 a picture.

I think some of the bigger Black magazines should have gone into movies or documentaries. A guy like Michael Moore does 150 million dollars with a documentary.

Al Gore did the same thing with An Inconvenient Truth Over 150 million. Docs can be big business.

For instance most people don't read comics anymore but Marvel Comics is making billions a year with a lot of movies now. I think they do about 5 movies a year now.

I think Jet and Ebony have made hundreds of millions of dollars in the past, if not a billion or so, and should leverage their brands into movies and documentaries on famous issues or people. Look Oprah and her investors put in 40 million for Selma and it already grossed 132 million so far I read.

It might sound crazy but I think they need to explore other forms of media like this. Or they can just scale down and do all online and make money with a digital YouTube Channel and market their databases.

They are Johnson Publishing for Pete's Sake. LOL! Serious they were making over a 100 million dollars a year for decades. As long as I can remember.

They've made well over 1 billion dollars selling ads and subscriptions targeting Black consumers over the years. They have the assets as collateral to do a documentary. Doc's are cheap to create in comparison to feature films.
Michael Moore has done Over 150 Million dollars
doing documentaries

They should hire Spike or a established filmmaker to do docs and films toward a middle income Black audience. Well that's my little popcorn opinion any way. What do I know right? LOL! SMH

Magazines are a dying business is the bottomline. I hope these magazines can take the millions or billions made and channel it into new forms of media especially new media.

I remember when the Internet 1st came out a lot of these traditional media companies thought it was a joke.  You'd couldn't get many to buy a serious web site back in 1996 or so.

Now they are going out of business and Google, eBay, and Facebook are worth tens of billions of dollars each. It's a shame.

I do see what they were doing as almost a long documentary on Black life and that they could have leveraged that into the film or doc business. I don't know all the financial dynamics though.
I wish them the best.

Don't Give UP on Life!

Being diagnosed with Cancer is very sobering and makes you stare your mortality in the face.  However, it isn't always a death sentence.  Keep the faith even when faced with grim health challenges.

Me in My NJ Office during
tough times
I remember waking up after surgery and the doctor telling me I had some very serious health issues. The two worst ones were he removed a cancerous tumor from me the size of a lemon!

Second my PSA's were high and therefore I could also have Prostate cancer.  He said they would run tests and get back to me in a week with the results. But the least he could see was a tough round of Chemo.

Lord Jesus, I thought! How am I going to survive two forms of cancer at the same time when most people have a problem surviving one I thought?

Constantly I kept thinking: who would be there for my daughter?

It was the longest week of my life and I was getting sick because I couldn't sleep thinking about all that could happen. I thought to myself I have to get sleep to fight these illnesses.

So I adopted a simple mediation technique from Oprah and John Grey which helped me relax. I just simply stopped worrying about death, cancer, and sickness while focusing on the Love and Presence of God.

Then in Deep meditation God spoke to me and told me - what the Doctor would tell me.

Still Here and Still Working Out
IN the INNER realm of my being God told me the doctor would find no Prostate cancer despite high PSAs and I would have a treatable form of cancer although it would be rough.

One week later the Doctor told me exactly what God had revealed to me. From that point on I had a deeper relationship with God that - would never again be the same.

Life will throw you some curve balls. But you have to keep stepping up to home plate and swinging. When you see life with focus and keep swinging and you'll eventually hit a home run.

I have a Beautiful Daughter to help take care of so I couldn't afford to die. Subsequently I became crippled, ill from treatments, and abandoned. But I didn't give up on life.

That was over 9 years ago Doctor's told me I not only had one form of cancer but may have two forms of cancer at the same.  I remember thinking I'd probably die and never see my daughter grow up. Again I thought to myself how can I possibly fight off 2 forms of cancer at the same time?

I went through a few years of horrific treatments but the cancer keep coming back.

Then I had a talk with God. In short, I told the Lord that I can't take the brutal treatments and lack of quality of life I was enduring. I knew my daughter needed me here but - I wanted to be healed or go home to God.

Well the next time I went to the Doctor he said that "there's no evidence of Cancer." I asked if that meant the cancer was in remission.

He said "no this beyond remission there's no evidence of cancer at all!" Almost 9 years later I'm still here and working out and feeling pretty good.

Although life hasn't worked out the way I planned or all the way I would have liked but I thank God I'm still here.  If I make it to next Christmas 2015 that will be 10 years a cancer survivor.

I'm going to party for the whole month if this happens - God willing. LOL!  I wanna thank the doctors, nurses, my family, and all people who helped me along the way. But I am always mindful doctors can treat you but only: God can heal! Give God the glory for healing you everyday!  (c) Excerpt from future book Come BACK! by Kamau Austin

Pay the Love & Compassion Forward

I few weeks ago I didn't have humongous cash on me but I gave what I had to a homeless woman and when I went home discovered I had a nice payment from an online passive income source. This was nice.

Today, I broke up a fight with a bunch of teenagers and as I was walking home a city bus driver just stopped the bus in front of me and asked me if I wanted a ride. I was shocked! I told the driver thank him very much but "I like to walk."

I've decided after doing a lot of research on the amazing advances Blacks have made in this country to say "hello" to more people in my community or "good morning." Yep, I get those who don't wanna talk to a person they don't know, but I also get a lot of people who smile and greet me in a very civil way.

I wonder if we can turn around some of the surface coldness and aloofness in our communities by adding a little more warmness and civility to others in our neighborhoods. Can we make the world a little more livable and friendly by paying it forward with acts of kindness and love? Hhhhhhhm?

I challenge you to step outta of your comfort zone with compassion and concern. I bet you'll help minister to the life of others and also to your own.

Love Indescribably

Love Indescribably

There are NO words to describe
No vocabulary that ensues

What your Love means to me so refined
with our daily devotion renewed

Duly now enthralled in ecstasy our strong rip tide
Share all our intimacy until we're strongly imbibed
drunk with eros like drinking aged wine

Our Amour fuels our desire beating in a base type vibe
Digging into the Deep Caverns of my soul
Like the will to survive

There are no Accolades I will find
wouldn't Dissipate like Day break Dew

Do justice to our perfect Love so Divine
flawless like the diamond too Brilliant to review

So let others let their Love die
like withered fruit on the vine
Or let ardor wan yet for contentious dispute

But We Forge forth enamored and let love Thrive
Like seeds cultivated in a garden constantly revived
committed to sharing, caring, and daring to survive

Yearning for those Throes Pained from our Delight
Passions Sparking so Strong to illuminate the Night

Join our Spirits springing forth beyond time
looking to the heavens for solace to peruse
Til God in infinite wisdom inseminating by design
To Flower our Alpha inside of you

So I'd fight any beast or demon alive
stand against any horrors within view

Journey to the ends of the earth to try
Just for the honor and chance to pursue
being in your arms and standing by your side

Love Indescribably by K. Austin (c) 2010.
